Boys Republic Agriculture Program offers students a unique and immersive experience in land stewardship, animal care, and sustainable practices. Working on the school’s expansive 200-acre campus, students develop practical agricultural skills while gaining an appreciation for the hard work and dedication required to care for living systems.

Program Overview

  • Hands-On Agricultural Education:
    Students participate in daily tasks that teach the fundamentals of:
    • Land management and soil care
    • Animal husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and stable maintenance
    • Irrigation, planting, and harvesting
    • Farm maintenance and operational support
  • Campus-Wide Impact:
    • Students help care for and maintain Boys Republic’s large and productive campus
    • Their efforts support campus beautification, food production, and sustainability initiatives
    • Daily contributions help keep the environment clean, functional, and productive for everyone

Core Skills & Practical Experience

  • Diverse Agricultural Training:
    Students gain exposure to multiple areas of agriculture:
    • Fruit tree cultivation and orchard maintenance
    • Landscaping and groundskeeping techniques
    • Tool use and machinery operation related to farm work
    • Seasonal planting and crop rotation
  • Animal Care and Responsibility:
    • Students care for farm animals such as horses, goats, chickens, or other livestock
    • Responsibilities include:
      • Cleaning stalls and pens
